So How Is CBD Deodorant Any Different Than Every Day DIY Deodorant?

CBD, a cannabinoid found in industrial hemp, is incredibly beneficial to skin. The cannabinoids in hemp are naturally antibacterial, antiseptic, antiviral, anti-fungal and combat inflammation both on the surface of skin and in the body. Topical CBD (applied to the skin) can activate the receptor in the ECS system known as CB2 which can reduce pruritus (itchy skin) and inflammation which could not only help alleviate irritation from shaving but dryness from eczema or psoriasis.

DIY CBD Deodorant Ingredients

  • 30mg MCBD Full Spectrum CBD Tincture (for this recipe we used our 1000mg in natural flavor but you can use any strength tincture to reach 30mg, measurements below)
  • 1/2c Coconut Oil
  • 1/4c Arrowroot Powder
  • 1/4c Baking Soda
  • 1/4 tsp Lavender Essential Oil
  • Alternate oils that can provide benefits: eucalyptus & tea tree oil

Lavender oil is believed to have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to heal minor burns and bug bites

Eucalyptus oil is available as an essential oil that is used as a medicine to treat a variety of common diseases and conditions including nasal congestion, asthma, and as a tick repellant. Diluted eucalyptus oil may also be applied to the skin as a remedy for health problems such as arthritis and skin ulcers.

Tea Tree Oil is a natural antibacterial that is also an effective insect repellent (which could come in handy on hiking trails), an antiseptic, boosts would healing, fights acne and skin infection as well as fungus.

This quick DIY deodorant recipe can be made with every day ingredients you find in your kitchen or local grocery store.

*If the coconut oil is in a solid state, fill a small pot with about halfway up with water and bring to a boil. Place a smaller pot or heat-proof stainless steel bowl inside the larger pot to create a double boiler. Melt your coconut oil to a liquid state before beginning this recipe.

Directions For Making DIY CBD Deodorant

For this recipe we’re using the 1000mg Strength of MCBD Full Spectrum CBD Tincture in Natural flavor. Each full dropper of 1000mg oil contains approximately 33.34mg of CBD so just a little shy of a full dropper will work for this recipe.

Once your coconut oil is melted you can add in your MCBD oil and lavender essential oil.

Blend in your cornstarch and baking soda slowly incorporating each spoonful.

Work lumps out of your mixture by pressing and spreading with the back of a spoon. An electric whisk or hand mixer can do this step if you’re making more than just one batch. This recipe makes one 2oz container of deodorant.

DROPPER DOSING BY TINCTURE STRENGTH
